A GAP YEAR

I’ve been thinking about the idea of having a gap year between school and university as many people do. It can help me to gain some work experience or learn a new language. I will probably go to the USA or other English speaking country. The experience I will get in my gap year will be reflected on my CV and it will help me to apply more jobs.

Oxford can be a good option. I’ve always wanted to see the atmosphere of its old university. I’ve been told it’s very exclusive, and not everybody gets a place. I may work as a waiter to get more fluence and to learn the real spoken English people use in the streets.

Another option could be to have a gap year in a poor country of Africa where people speak English to do some charity work. Although it can be a hard experience, it might help me to think over the basic things I have  a state school where I can receive a good education, running  water,  etc.) that not everybody can afford because of the bad management of the money that some governments have, which spent it in weapons and bombs and not in the basic necessities of the population. I may be a bit homesick the first days, but I will get used to the atmosphere that people in this areas are made to live in.

Some people take also a gap year, just to go abroad and visit a lot of places worldwide. You can meet different cultures, discover amazing landscapes and eat weird food too! There’re some incredibly interesting sights in all over the world such us the Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal, The Roman Coliseum, the Norwegian fjords, the Eiffel Tower, Cappadocia, etc. A gap year could be the perfect opportunity to discover all these places.

Eventually, I have to say that the most important goal of the gap year is to ask myself what are my ambitions for my future and what I want to do in my life.
