A GAP YEAR

I’ve been thinking about the idea of having a gap year between school and university as many people do. It can help me to gain some work experience or learn a new language. I will probably go to the USA or other English speaking country. The experience I will get in my gap year will be reflected on my CV and it will help me to apply more jobs.

Oxford can be a good option. I’ve always wanted to see the atmosphere of its old university. I’ve been told it’s very exclusive, and not everybody gets a place. I may work as a waiter to get more fluence and to learn the real spoken English people use in the streets.

Another option could be to have a gap year in a poor country of Africa where people speak English to do some charity work. Although it can be a hard experience, it might help me to think over the basic things I have  a state school where I can receive a good education, running  water,  etc.) that not everybody can afford because of the bad management of the money that some governments have, which spent it in weapons and bombs and not in the basic necessities of the population. I may be a bit homesick the first days, but I will get used to the atmosphere that people in this areas are made to live in.

Some people take also a gap year, just to go abroad and visit a lot of places worldwide. You can meet different cultures, discover amazing landscapes and eat weird food too! There’re some incredibly interesting sights in all over the world such us the Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal, The Roman Coliseum, the Norwegian fjords, the Eiffel Tower, Cappadocia, etc. A gap year could be the perfect opportunity to discover all these places.

Eventually, I have to say that the most important goal of the gap year is to ask myself what are my ambitions for my future and what I want to do in my life.

MY PERSONAL PROFILE

Hi eveyone! In this entry I will write my personal profile.
My name is Adolfo Domenech Abela. I was born in Malaga the 24th September in 1997. I studied Primary school and Secondary school in Academia Santa Teresa. At present, I am studying Bachillerato in Sagrado Corazon and I am doing quite well so far.
My favourite hobby is playing violin. I satrted playing it when I was 5 years old and I entered the Music School "Gonzalo Martín Tenllado" when I was 8. At the moment I am studying year 9 and I like it very much because I start to play serious pieces. However, it is sometimes difficult to combine both Bachillerato and Music school, but being orginized it is not a big problem.
Although I usually play classical music, I like other kinds of music. I listen to pop music (Bruno Mars, Train, Usher...) electro music (Taio Cruz, Calvin Harris...) or house (David Guetta). People say at present the trendiest kind of music is dubstep, whose most important artist is Scrillex. However, I don't like it because I consider it too artificial.
Talking about whatI like doing in my free time, apart from playing violin I like playing football and jogging yo keep myself fit. I am a supporter of Malaga C.F and Real Madrid. I can't stand Catalonian people waving nationalist flag in Nou Camp because it isn't time to claim independence with both economic crisis and recession. It just drives me furious! However, I have some Catalonian relatives and they are very friendly.
Finally, talking about my future I would like to be an engineer. I sometimes think of being a professional violinist but you have to be so skillful to get a job in the music world. You have also to study incredibly hard to become an engineer, but it isn´t the same. We will see how it goes.
